He loved his family and was very proud of being a "Papa".īill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Ellen (Boynton) Tapley two children, Heather Tapley and her boyfriend, Mickey Moody, and William "BJ" Tapley Jr., his wife Susan a grandson, William Tapley, III three sisters, Marilyn Vose, Patricia Boyington and her husband Dale, and Peggy Tapley his mother-in-law, whom he regarded as his second mother, Nadine Boynton a sister-in-law, Susan Tower and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor - it was said "he cheered the world" with his jokes and stories, which always kept things lively and interesting at family gatherings. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many pastimes from hunting and fishing to boating, snowmobiling, and atving. Like many young men in the area at that time, he went right to work at Great Northern Paper Company after graduation, and remained working there until 2002, spending time in the Coater Department and the Paper Room. Tapley, Sr., 64, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 15, 2017, surrounded by his family, at a Bangor hospital.
